As an Academic Medical Center known for innovation and discovery, the University of Wisconsin–Madison and UW Health is a great site for industry clinical trials. With a large service area, and over 750,000 patients served each year, we represent a health care destination for many in the Wisconsin and Northern Illinois service areas. We are home to the world renowned UW Carbone Cancer Center, have an established Clinical Research Unit, as well as many unique speciality areas throughout our organization.
We work directly with industry sponsors and contract research organizations (CROs) to ensure customized service to meet shared goals. Members of our Clinical Research Office and clinical departments are ready to partner and reach our shared goals of efficiently activating studies and maximizing enrollment while providing accurate data. Ranked as one of the nation’s top 10 public universities for research, we have hundreds of engaged investigators and skilled research teams, ready to participate in all phases of research and support nearly all adult and pediatric therapeutic areas. We support all phases of research, from Phase 1 to Phase 4. Depending on the trial specifics, we ensure that the trial is conducted in the appropriate location with supporting resources.
Timelines depend on both the sponsor or CRO and the site. We always make our best effort to open a study according to sponsor timelines, however, delays in receiving all required sponsor documents, response to questions or amendments to protocols may result in unexpected delays.
UW participates in a full range of studies from epidemiology and surveillance, to vaccine trials, to treatment trials with pharmaceuticals, biologics, or devices. We are innovators and are interested in supporting your innovations.
