New Health Link security offering available for principal investigators

A new Health Link security offering for principal investigators will grant additional research security similar to what is currently provided to research coordinators.

PI’s will now have access to the following for studies on which they are listed in Health Link (All links lead to U-Connect):

To be eligible for the additional security, providers must complete an eLearning course on U-Learn. A Computer Systems Access Request is not needed.

The eLearning covers the items listed above, as well as a variety of Research in Health Link topics such as:

    • Key research policies and guidelines
    • Research documentation guidelines
    • Interface between OnCore and Health Link
    • Adding the Research Studies activity to Health Link menus

Accessing the training

Providers need to complete the 35-minute eLearning course, “Health Link Research: Principal Investigator Training.”

    1. Go to U-Learn
    2. Search for “Principal Investigator”
    3. Click into the course (you’ll see an image like the one seen here –>)
    4. Click “Launch” to open
    5. Once completed (including the attestation that content was understood), UWH IS Security will get a notification within a couple of days and will add the security in Health Link.

At this time, only the principal investigator staff role is interfaced from OnCore to Health Link, so tools that are dependent on being listed as study staff in Health Link will only be available when the provider is listed as a PI. The Health Link team is working to determine if it will be feasible to interface sub-investigators and/or co-investigators in the future.
